|
|
Hi,
Two weeks ago a thread on female or male images for better response triggered a test for me with AdSense.
Here is the orginal thread (it went a little the different way )
http://www.associateprograms.com/discus/ftopic10156-0-asc-0.html
After two weeks the votes are in:
Putting a picture of a face next to adsense ads does increase clickthrough.
I put a table under the first paragraph of the article with left the image and right a square ad-block.
There is no difference between male and female faces
There is a significant difference between using faces or a different kind of picture. Faces score better.
Images I use are like the following:
http://www.istockphoto.com/file_search.php?action=file&text=business+woman
Don't put TWO or more pictures on the page, otherwise they are all screaming for peoples attention.
It worked for me, just test to see if it will work for you too.
Cheers

Interesting stuff Bas. It makes sense if you think about it because people are naturally drawn to faces and placing an Adsense ad beside a picture (especially if the person is 'easy on the eye') would attract attention to the ad itself.

Just a point for consideration - photos on istockphoto are copyrighted. Just as people make money online with AdSense & affiliate programs, some people make money by taking photos and selling them on istockphoto. I hope anyone who uses istockphoto will show these fellow entrepreneurs the respect they deserve.
