Any comments on James Martell’s Affiliate Marketers Handbook 2002.
Is useful and worth buying ?

Bob,

I can't really answer that but I do subscribe to his affiliate buzz and I learn something every month.

Although, I've been told that since I have SBI already it probably isn't worth we purchasing. However, I am not too smart sometimes and I'm planning on purchasing it soon... as part of my continuing education.

It depends on what you already know about affiliate marketing. If you are new, this is the best investment you will make. It is an excellent step by step manual. Go for it, if you can afford it. It is worth every penny.

Building on what the others have already said...

James describes how to build a large content site to presell affiliate programs. This approach would work well with Adsense too, but the book was written before Adsense was "invented".

He uses a more DIY approach, but the method is similar.

What I was most interested in were his sitemaps - showing his linking structure in detail. James is pretty unique in the way he shows you his own sites.

James Martell's (http://www.ebooks242.com/jamesmartell) Affiliate Marketer Handbook is worth every penny I've spent. I'm not only saying this because I'm an affiliate for his ebook, but also because he has written an incredible manual. Everyone whether you have any knowledge or not about affiliate marketing can follow his excellent step-by-step guide. He shows you in detail and with lots of screenshots how to organize your business (yes you should treat it like a real business), searching for affiliate programs, building the sites, registering a domain, get hosting, how to write your articles or get content for your pages and you will need a lot of content, cause all of his sites are between 100-300 pages. So it is a lot of work, but very easy to follow. He shows on which site to use affiliate links an on which not, how to link the sites together.... I highly recommend it.
A few days ago I read about a new ebook about affiliate marketing where the guy tells you, you can start "without a website". First I was very sceptical, but since this guy has sold over $250 Million in goods offline (Mailorder Marketing) in 30 years an has now started affiliate marketing and made an anualized return of six figures I had to buy his manual. He mainly focuses on building mailing lists and sell them your affiliate programs. First when I read his sales letter I don't thought that it would work, but after I have read his ebook, I must say I've to try it out. I will read it now for a second time and following his guidelines step-by-step and I'm sure this is another way of profiting from affiliate programs.

So my conclusion is: There are different ways how to be successfull with affiliate programms and should try everything out foryourself whether it works for you or not. What works for someone other haven't to work for you and what works fine for you haven't to work for others. So be open minded and learn through trial and error.

P.S. Both manuals mentioned above are the better choice than Rosalind Garnder's ebook in my personal opinion.
