Hi all,

I'd like to start a blog related to the topic on my site, but I'm not sure where it would best be located in order to increase traffic to my site. Should I create the blog 'in-site', or run a separate blog on a site such as blogger, with links back to my site? I could see benefits to both, but being pretty new to the blogging scene (at least as a publisher) I thought I'd pick the brains of those more in the know Smile

Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Canuck

propably it would be better to set a blog outside your site - more links from different location...

In my opinion place it outside your website, and under a different domain name. That would be better.

Why would that be better? By putting your blog as part of your site, you can drag in a lot of traffic via blog rolls and pinging and such. Why put that on another site. Just make it a sub-domain or a sub-folder of your site.

All of my site-related blogs except one are in a subfolder on their main sites. I know when I initially set up that one blog that's outside of its related website (got its own domain name and everything), I worried like crazy about cross-linking between the two sites. I don't worry about it anymore Smile, but now I just put all of my new site-related blogs in with their main sites these days. Like Eric, I find it works well in terms of increasing traffic to the main site.

Iwould blog prefer outside the sites...
One of my blog got pr4 in 2 months... but you have to post almost daily to get blogs things going... and the best part is you can have links to your site back too ..

I'm with varunpratap. Very Happy While it requires effort on your part to post daily, but the inter-linking will help the PR.

Btw, what's your blog URL? I'd like to pay a visit to your blog.
