Post subject: duplicate content results for articles
|

I'm interested to know what kind of results people are having with other sites publishing your articles. My thinking is that these articles are going to be seen by a SE as duplicate content and not indexed, giving you only the traffic from users following a trail through that site.

If your article is published on a popular, high PageRank site such as ezinearticles.com you can get direct traffic from people who click on the link to your site, and also get a little PageRank boost as well.
Other sites may not send you traffic but they should all give you a little PageRank boost if there's a link to your site in the resource box at the end of the article. Every little bit helps. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Allan,
Thanks for the info. So even if the duplicate page does not show in results it is still giving a little page rank.

Yes. One challenge is that some sites will publish your article but not make the link to your site a hyperlink. I think it's fair to ask such sites to remove your article. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Allan,
That would be a problem. Maybe something that would help would be to state above the article that hyperlinks are part of the copyright and if they reproduce the article without the hyperlinks that they are in violation of the copyright. Don't know if this is actually true but it might get you more hyperlinks.
