hi, all, I am a newbie here. I have learned something about affiliate network listed here, and I contacted Linkshare, CJ, Clickxchange, Darkblue, Performics. CJ refused us for we could not meet their needs. Darkblue replied me with good attitude, the person who contacted with me introduced me a lot of information, they are located in Australia, but 95% traffic is US-based, what is the most attractive, we only need to pay for real sales/leads.
With regards to Clickxchange, I am still not clear about this network.
Linkshare means a good chance (Like CJ)for us, but it is so expensive.
And I am still awaiting the reply of Performics.
So, I am confused, anybody will give me some suggestions? I will appreciate all the words you tell me. Thanks a lot. _________________ I signed on for the whole load, and most of it was pretty good. |

y CJ , linkshare donot accepting you ,., and some of there country merchants accept traffic from anywhere ...
choose network on the following basis >>>
promptness of payment
services offered by you
confortable with payment
high number and quality merchants
merchants related to your website |

How to Choose Affiliate network as a merchant >>>
1st .. check how many affiliates that network has . the more the affiliates more will be sales for you.
2nd . prefer affiliate networks that charges no or small set up fee..
3rd. Geographic location :: if you want leads/sales from uk then go for uk based affiliate network if need usa leads/sales go for usa based network ..
4th . check overall performance of affiliate network ?? what are the views of affiliates about that network .
5th Fraud protection : if you are planning to pay for leads/clicks you can loose huge money by affiliate fraud... forexample cj does not offer fraud protection system you have to check all leads manually ... go for affiliate network who offers fraud protection system ..
6th. Budget ... go for affiliate network which you can afford.
7th .. Inhouse program ... also launch your own affiliate network with following facillities.>> prompt payment + various modes of payment (cheque/wire/paypal)... once affiliates trust on you youi will get higher number of sales leads....
usually affiliate networks stuck affiliates money for months and donot offer various modes of payment thats y i suggest also offer inhouse program you will get lot of overseas affiliates for you if offering payment in various modes..

Businessguide, I appreciate all you have told to me...
I reviewed the differences among these affiliate networks, from the reaeach, I got to know that Clickxchange may be more fit for us, but with regards to your suggestion (No.4), how can I check the overall performance of this Affiliate network? In what ways?
Or anybody knows the performance of Clickxchange? Or is there any Quiting Cost for Clickxchange?
Thank you all for your help/ _________________ I signed on for the whole load, and most of it was pretty good. |

Well, that sounds like a great finding for us, you know that we need to pay money to get more information, and you are so kind to provide me with lots of useful details.
I contacted with Performic too, but they may refuse us, in this case, I begin to accept this truth, that we are too small to meet these big affliate programs' condition, am I right?
So, what shall I do? The small affliate networks have nothing on those big ones...what is the most important things we need to consider during the development of our website. _________________ I signed on for the whole load, and most of it was pretty good.

ShareaSale.com
Low cost set up.
Lots of tools.
Free of parasitic affiliates.
Not as big as CJ and LS, but since when is size more important than targetting?
Just an idea for more research. _________________ There's a million things to do, you know that there are.... |

Thanks a lot. I would like to contact them, then judge them according to BUSINESSGUIDE's words. _________________ I signed on for the whole load, and most of it was pretty good. |

Can you share with us ... ??
your country ?
your website ?
payment plan ( willing to pay for leads or clicks or sales )
Budget ( amount you are willing to spend on network as setup and running fee )
amount you are willing to spend on affiliates as commission .
if you cannot afford any good affiliate network try to start your own inhouse program .. you can Submit your affiliate program profile in various Affiliate program directories. affiliates can find you in these directories and work for you . hence it will not cost you even one cent to start affiliate program .
(BTW ShareaSale did not pay me my commission for march 2004 and suspended my account on day of payment ). |

Businessguide, it is my honor to get your help here, hoping that we can communicate more and more from now on.
We locate in Hongkong, and we are an online shop selling cellphone accessories, it is www.vavolo.com , I have tried many ways to increase the traffics of our website, affiliate program should be another good way for us.
According to my experience, I prefer to pay for sales, but I am not sure whether it is a good way to attract affiliates, I need your suggestion.
Then, as for our budget, we have paid a lot for Adwords, Shopping, Overture and Bizrate, so $2000 will be the appropriate budget for us.
I sent an email to Shareasale, but still awaiting their replies.
Thanks for your time and your valuable information. _________________ I signed on for the whole load, and most of it was pretty good. |

With Budget of $2000 you cannot get much from affiliate marketing .... almost all major networks charge over $2000 to set up just your merchant account ... that is 2000 is just sign up fee. in performics & LinkShare i guess its about $8000USD ...and i donot think new networks or small networks can generate sales ( online sales ) ... ... tiny uk networks are charging about $1000-$2000 set up fee like Affiliate future /OMGuk etc . i donot think you can do well in Affiliate network .. i suggest you to pay $100 -$200 to a software Engg.. and ask them to set up a Sales Tracking system for your website ... and Place Affiliate link at bottom of your website ... so your existing visitors or new visitors can read and sign up for your inhouse program .......also you can find affiliate link by ppc / or submitting your affiliate site in various directories
