2. My Week – Flood Update
Last week I mentioned the floods in Queensland, Australia. A lot happens in a week. The rain has stopped, except for thunder storms, and thousands of people have turned out to help those who were inundated clean the mud out of their houses. The mud and every thing that they owned. So many homes and lives turned upside down.
The Aussie spirit is alive and well. Mateship thrives and it makes you proud to be involved. For some, this flood will affect them for years to come but at least they know that the people around them care and that they’re not alone.
Businesses are starting again after being shut down and people are returning to work. Life goes on. The new year beckons and everyone’s eager to get stuck in. I hope you are.
Anyway, have a mud-free week and think of me hosing out other people’s places.
