1. Web success stories you can't put down

It's not easy to be surprised these days by the claims made by so many Internet authors peddling ebooks about how to be an Internet millionaire in three easy lessons.

Most have something valid to offer, but we're often left with the feeling of being short-changed, waiting for really valuable information we can use. Unfortunately, most books just don't have it.

I hope you've read John Evans' book. Even though I was on holiday I just couldn't put it down.

If you haven't read it yet, you're in for a treat.

The $250,000 affiliate gives you valuable insights.

For example:

*He tells you which of his affiliate web sites is the most successful - and gives you the link.

*He also shows you six more of his affiliate sites.

*He tells you why Google penalized his sites at one stage.

*He describes how he chooses topics for sites.

*He explains why he favors sites that earn $500 to $1,000 a month.

*He tells you how he gets articles for his site without writing them himself.

*He discusses the importance of AdSense, and so on.

It's not a step-by-step affiliate manual. For that sort of detailed help, the $250,000 affiliate recommends the book by his mentor James Martell -

If you already have James's book, you'll find this chapter is like the icing on the cake. It tells you all the important things you need to know.

There's a whole lot more to the book than the $250,000 affiliate.

My favorite chapter is the one on the guy who's selling big- ticket items on eBay.

He's doing stuff that no one else is doing and, so far, has no real competitors.

If that chapter doesn't set your pulse racing, you don't have a pulse.

3. New - a sort of AdSense competitor

Russell Brunson has just launched Affiliate Power Ads, a sort of competitor to Google's AdSense - text links with pictures.

They're a bit like AdSense ads, except you have some say in what's advertised, and there's a viral marketing component, so news of this is spreading very fast.

You're paid per sale, not per click.

4. Our vacation sparks two new goals

Joanna and I have been having a vacation, traveling along the east coast of Australia, staying a few days in different spots.

We ended up at a beach house at Belongil Beach, a 10-minute stroll along the beach from Byron Bay, south of Brisbane.

It was a superb spot. When the tide was in, we were only about 10 paces from the sea.

We could watch people being taught to surf almost right in front of the house. One day we saw a school of fish leaping, and another day we watched two dolphins frolicking in the waves.

When we take a break from work I always feel energized and begin thinking of new ideas, new web sites, new ways to improve the business.

So we say to each other, "We must do this more often," but then we foolishly fall back into the old trap of becoming totally absorbed in our business again.

We're determined that's not going to happen again.

This time we've written down two new goals: We're going to take a day off work each week (to start with) and a long weekend away from home once a month.
