Preselling a misunderstood skill
Preselling is a vital skill all affiliates must have.
It involves warming up your website visitors, getting them in a ready-to-buy frame of mind before you send them to a merchant's site.
Preselling, also known as PREselling and pre-selling, is the most important skill in affiliate marketing. It makes or breaks you.
Unfortunately, it's also one of the most misunderstood and underestimated skills.
You, the affiliate, PREsell. The merchant sells.
The look and feel of your website are important, but hugely more important are the actual words on the page.
You need to learn how to connect with your visitors.
Several years ago, when my business was much smaller than it is now, I was worried when I learned that one of my competitors had gained $4 million in funding from a large company.
I imagined all the awful things they could do to me when they threw $4 million into sophisticated website development and marketing.
I'd be crushed by the competition, I thought.
They can't compete
I mentioned my fears to Ken Evoy. (He's an expert on competing with large companies. If Ken didn't invent preselling, he certainly popularized it.)
"You don't have anything to worry about," Ken said. "You have your own unique voice. They can't compete with that."
As it turned out, Ken was right.
I'm not sure what happened to my big-money competitors, but you never seem to see them mentioned anywhere these days. Meanwhile, my own business has gone from strength to strength.
I've been called THE authority on affiliate programs, and similar things. My wife, Joanna, and I have a nice lifestyle, spending half the year by the beach in Australia and the other half in New Zealand, thanks to the affiliate commissions we receive.
One of the main reasons for my success is that I've managed to connect with my readers.
People like buying from people they know, like and trust.
You can get YOUR website visitors to know, like and trust YOU.
It's a skill you can learn.
Ken has written a truly superb book explaining how.
Forget what you learned at school. Forget what you've read in stodgy books that try to teach you how to write.
Ken's Make Your Content PREsell! is the only book of its kind.
It tells you step by step:
1. How to write to COMMUNICATE
2. How to develop your own "voice" with flair and substance
3. How to spin your site/business/SELF into a unique position
4. How to HONESTLY convince people to trust and like you.
No other book in the world shows you how to do this.
It's not ONLY for online marketers.
EVERYONE needs this book. EVERYONE.
UPDATE - Free Download
Ken is a PREselling evangelist. He wants everyone to learn how to PREsell. So, at first, he almost gave his book away for an incredibly low price. It was worth 100 times more.
However, this vitally important book is now free. The latest edition is completely updated, including a special section on social media.

I'll be sure to pick it up.
this is a presell on behalf of ken envoy
[Exactly. I'm glad to see you understand how preselling works. It's Evoy, though, not Envoy. Allan.]
[Yes - be our guest! Glad that this has been of help. Sally.]
I revisited here today as I couldn't find my old copy of the MYCPS any more. Thanks that you link out to the sitesell site as I found so much helpful information there (in addition to yours here) that I nearly forgot why I was visiting in the first place. So much to devour.
As pre-selling is often misunderstood (yes, the title of this post says it all), I really like how you put it into 3 short sentences:
2. how to develop your own "voice" with flair and substance
3. how to spin your site/biz/SELF into a unique position
4. how to HONESTLY convince people to trust and like you.
