1. New series: How to make an extra $33,000 a year

It's good advice you may have read: To achieve massive success, take massive action.

But what if you have a full-time job and lots of commitments and don't have the time and energy to take massive action?

Don't despair.

In my 10 years full-time in affiliate marketing, one of the most powerful lessons I've learned is that if you keep taking a lot of tiny steps to improve your affiliate business, all those tiny improvements can add up to huge success.

Paul Myers wrote recently about the enormous power of continuous improvement. He was talking about Internet marketing in general. That gave me the idea of writing a new series of articles showing you step by step how to improve your affiliate business.

The series is aimed at affiliates who are earning less than $1,000 a month.

Follow this series. Follow the action steps. I can't promise that you'll make an extra $33,000 a year. No one can promise you that. However, I do strongly believe that if you keep improving what you're doing, one little step at a time, success is inevitable. It worked for me.

2. Are you a loose goose?
=========================

I hope you won't be offended by a little spelling lesson for anyone who needs it.

People often write things like...

If you're not quick you'll loose...
You're loosing commissions...
You're loosing money... (on 137,000 pages in Google)

"Loose" rhymes with goose. "Loose" is the word you use when your belt isn't tight enough.

When affiliates are missing out on commissions, they "lose" commissions. It's an odd word which looks like a spelling mistake, but it's not. "Lose" rhymes with "blues".

So to stop looking like a goose, you need to talk about "losing commissions", not "loosing commissions".

To help you remember the spelling, picture a loose goose chasing a loose woman.

Say to yourself, "Don't be a loose goose."

3. Freedom
==========

As usual at this time of year - southern summer - Joanna and I are in Cromwell, in the lakes district of the South Island of New Zealand. It's nice and warm here. People come here for the weather, boating, fishing and the vineyards.

About 20 members of the extended family I had the good fortune to marry into are staying in three houses - and a tent - and within easy walking distance of the lake and the golf course. Plans are being drawn for a fourth house.

We've been having lots of family get-togethers and, as usual, gorging ourselves on the delicious sweet apricots and cherries that grow so abundantly in our backyards.

It's at this time of the year that Joanna and I really appreciate how much affiliate marketing has changed our lifestyle for the better. We love the freedom it has given us.

This year, three members of our extended family are venturing into affiliate marketing. I'll keep them in mind as I write my new series, "How to make an extra $33,000 a year". I know they'll be studying it closely, so I'll be pouring everything I can into it.

Set a "$33,000 extra" goal for 2009 and follow along.
