1. New ClickBank competitor has no set-up fee
=============================================

ClickBank has a new competitor, an affiliate network and marketplace called Click2Sell. Advanced tracking is one of its attractions. Can it compete with ClickBank? It's early days yet, but it already has 60 products listed, compared with 30 about a week ago.

At this stage, the products are mainly in the Internet marketing field.

For vendors, there's no set-up fee, and they can sell digital and physical products and membership sites with recurring billing.

I've signed up to keep an eye on it. Like its competitors, it's free to join.

2. What do you think of Click2Sell?
===================================

I'd be very interested in receiving feedback on this new affiliate network, Click2Sell - http://www.AssociatePrograms.com/click2sell . Do you think it has a chance of providing ClickBank with serious competition?

One obvious thing is that it has a fairly small number of products, but that could easily change.

Have your say at the end of this newsletter.

In many places they have bold text. Many of these should also be links. For example. It talks about viewing the Fee Structure, but I could not find the page that listed the fee structure. The original text could have been a link, saving me searching. I love the $0 set up fee. I always considered Clickbank's too high.

I wish them well. A bit of competition is of benefit to all.
I'm disappointed that click2sell (don't like the name much) isnt taking care of affilliate payments. I can't imagine either vendors or affiliates being over the moon about that! Can't put my finger on it, but there is something about click2sell that is niggling at me. Because of that I won't be affiliating with any of their products for the present, preferring to sit on the boundary and watch for a while.
Cheers to all

At first it sounded too good to be true. So I headed over to find out for myself. And sure enough, I counted over 80 reasons why I should dump Clickbank in favor of Click2Sell. Thanks for the heads up Allan! I suspect it won't be long before you hear this huge sucking sound on the Internet... The sound of like-minded people abandoning hard-headed Clickbank in favor of a company that appears to care more about the success of the people they serve. Clickbank truly seems to have forgotten that survival depends on listening to those who butter your bread. Case in point... Look at how long it took them to add a simple (not so accurate) search function that people literally begged years for! Perhaps ole' Clickbank will see the writing on the wall and change it's gorilla-in-the-room ways before it's too late. But I for one, won't be holding my breath!

At first glance it looks good for the Vendors, but if it's not good for the Affiliates, ultimately the Vendors will suffer. I say this because...
1. Who wants their Affiliates to wait a month for commissions? And...
2. Many Affiliates don't trust the Vendor to pay them (sometimes with good cause).
For those two reasons, I can't envision Affiliates flocking there, uber-tracking or not. Terrific reporting and review, though, Allan! Thanks!

Hey Allan,
This just might be great news! CB, although it got immensely better with its "new" tracking abilities, could still use some improving. PDC, IMNSHO, sucks. A new competitor might be just what the doctor ordered. One question; I have a product I'm getting ready to do a big launch with (mid-Feb) and I'm not married to CB (was going to do CB with easyClickMate). I'm wondering would I lose affiliates because of going with this new system? I don't mean the 10,000 affiliates in CB I mean people that I invite to be members of my JV. Will they be "put off" by a new system?
Curiously yours,
John

[I wouldn't be put off if a vendor was trying a new affiliate network. I doubt if that scare away many affiliates - unless they'd heard something bad about the new outfit. Allan.]

I have not tried it yet as an affiliate, but it was easy to set up an account and seems to be very user friendly. I did, however, set myself up as a merchant and offered QuickPlanner Plus for sale with a 40% commission. We will see how that goes.

Looks like most every type of product sold via clickbank is banned on this new site. I don't see how it will compete. Though i wish it would.

I hope Allan will allow me (as a person from Click2Sell) to answer some concerns expressed here.

Answer for Veronica about vendors handling payments to affiliates. I really understand your worries. We are aware of such possible issues (that a vendor doesn't pay his affiliates) and we have made some measures to discipline such cheating merchants. We 100% know which merchants don't pay their affiliates. If a merchant fails to pay all his commissions and fees within given timeframe, the system automatically reduces his/her rating (which is visible). If a cheater continues to ignore paying commissions, he/she is eventually banned from our system. So if you choose one or another product to promote, you can check out vendor's rating or just try to communicate with the vendor at first (there is a message system implemented).

Answer for Terry.
1) About waiting for commissions for a month. 3 weeks after the end of a month is just the longest allowed period (without reducing merchant rating) for paying commissions. Actually a vendor in our system is able to pay a commission for his/her affiliate almost instantly once a sale is made. But in my opinion, it wouldn't be wise to pay commissions instantly as there might be a refund. Well, if a vendor wants to pay instantly his commissions, he/she is able to do that. We are planning to introduce a feature which would show how much time it takes for a vendor to pay all the commissions (eg, "10 days" would mean that a vendor usually pays a commission after 10 days once a sale is made).

2) About vendors handling payments to affiliates. The same concern was expressed by Veronica and I have answered this in the upper part of this message.

Answer for JC. Could you clarify your statement? Actually we haven't banned anything except the goods that are not allowed to be sold in most shops (like firearms, pornography, piracy and so on).
Thanks for your thoughts!

One thing that really stinks about ClickBank (and I've written about it at my blog) is you will not get paid until you rack up at least 5 different mastercard or visa purchases. So if 100 people buy clickbank products you promote using PayPal, you won't get paid until the magic number of 5 visa/MC purchases are made. I've only got about $100 sitting in my account waiting for the 5th visa/MC purchase... but darn it... I could use that hundred bucks!

Thats why I stopped as an affiliate with clickbank as they will juts absorbed that affiliate money until you reach there requirements,or they have taken all your money (which is the case for me).

No more for me with clickbank I have learned my lesson

Chris S and Donald, That's just silly. You're missing out on the opportunity to promote THOUSANDS of products because you're worrying about a few dollars?

I didn't even know that rule existed. If it does, it's never affected me. I suppose it's an anti-fraud measure.

Don't waste energy worrying about petty little stuff. Concentrate your thinking on what you CAN achieve if you learn how.
