1. How to recruit affiliates and super affiliates
=================================================

Every now and again on our affiliate forum we see a plaintive plea (or spam) from a desperate affiliate merchant who wants to know how to recruit affiliates.

So I've written a couple of articles describing a variety of techniques affiliate merchants use.

Whatever level you're at, I think you'll find these articles useful.

The article on recruiting super affiliates includes a technique I saw for the first time only a few days ago.

2. Insider's tip on John Reese
==============================

Here's a quick insider's tip, which anyone who has taken my advice and gets the Reese Report will already know about...

John Reese, well known for his million-dollar sales day, his VRE (virtual real estate), and a range of other online businesses, has really BIG plans for 2007.

I can't tell you what John has planned. My lips are sealed.

When you subscribe to his newsletter, you'll get access to all his new stuff and learn about his new plans when they're announced - at no extra charge.

I'm a subscriber and you should be, too.

In the January issue alone, there were nine pages of detailed tips on how to create cash-producing email lists, and ways to maximize your list profits. In every issue, there's always at least one item which I discuss with my Special Projects Manager, Jay Stockwell. John uses his vast experience to focus on tips that improve your revenue.

I reckon his newsletter is a must-have in your marketing arsenal. It helps you concentrate on stuff that gets results.

[UPDATE: John has stopped publishing the Reese Report.]

3. 77 Ways to Get Traffic - the REAL link
=========================================

All readers of this newsletter get access to my free report, 77 Ways to Get Traffic (most of them are free).

Whoops! I goofed. I missed out the slash in the URL in the last newsletter. I'm very sorry about that. I've whipped my proof-reader thoroughly.

Here's the correct link:

4. Google gets tough on AdSense competitors and Google bombers
==============================================================

Google has clamped down on ads which compete with AdSense. If you use ads on your site which look like AdSense ads, you need to know this.

Here's a good explanation of the changes...
http://www.jensense.com/archives/2007/01/adsense_competi.html

...and discussion on our affiliate forum...

Google gets tough on competing ads
http://www.AssociatePrograms.com/discus/ftopic22267.html

In other Google news, Wikipedia is now using rel=nofollow on its external links. Spammers were placing links on Wikipedia to boost their PageRank. Now search engine spiders will stop following such links, so the spammers will seek new hunting grounds. If you have a legitimate link on Wikipedia, all I can say is bad luck.

Also, Google has announced it has created a new algorithm which weakens the impact of prank "Google bombs". The White House, for example, no longer ranks No.1 for the phrase "miserable failure".

How does this affect non-pranksters? Not much. When you link to one of your pages, you're probably already using relevant phrases which are on the page you're linking to. Just keep doing that.

"A real decision is measured by the fact that you've taken a new action. If there's no action, you haven't truly decided." - Tony Robbins.

I doubt that I'm spilling the beans here (and if I am, I'm sure Allan will ding this comment!) since I'm only on John Reese's public mailing list and I have no insider knowledge... But John does say he's pretty excited about a big project of his in 2007. The trailer is at his new site, [Deleted], and I find myself checking it out from time to time simply because I love the jingle!

[It's going to be very interesting to watch what he does. So far, I think that domain has been announced only to his subscribers and they've been asked to keep it secret at this stage. Allan.]

Great Newsletter(s)... I have been studying internet marketing for a little bit now and following some top internet marketers. I am always amazed with some of these marketers who just throw out sites to promote that you know that it was not theirs to begin with. I have gotten several program promotions from individuals where the sales page/copy is not filled out... meaning: that the instructions on what to do with the sales page is left intact. I actually reminded TWO of these individuals who did respond back and stated they corrected the issue.

My point here, upon looking at the links and testing and such within this newsletter, I noticed that on this site:
http://www.raisingequity.com/signup.php
You will see that there is NOT a buy button, but instructions as to where it was suppose to go. (Am I missing something here?)

Credibility is lost big time for this website as well as the marketer. Sure I understand we all make mistakes, but it just seems more and more of these are popping up. Sloppy Work!

In closing: this is encouraging for newer marketers who recognize the opportunity where individuals make money with poor quality work - just like on eBay - we see and hear about terrible customer service, but the eBayer still makes money! If one can step it up (learn) from this poor quality work, then that is one step closer to success online. Also, for those who promote this site, you now know why there have not been any affiliate sales - because the site CAN NOT take sales...:o)
My first public posting...
Up and coming marketer..

[This is a good reminder that we don't have to be perfect to make money online. We DO have to take the first step. That stops a lot of people. What happened in this case was that this advertiser installed an upgrade which broke things. Last I heard, he was still waiting for his tech guy to fix things. Allan.]
