2) How to find unique backlinks to crush competitors

We’re pretty aggressive on the SEO front and don’t shy away from hard to rank for terms.

We’ve ranked sites in the top 3 on finance terms that are usually reserved only for multi-national banks.

Nonetheless, one thing that we are sure we focus on, as you’ll probably hear us talk about a lot, is on doing things that will last.

Blackhat is a good short term cash flow strategy, but if you’re trying to build an evergreen business, it’s not going to cut it.

Getting the on-page SEO stuff is easy. Set-up a Wordpress blog and you’re most of the way there. However, given that 70% of your ranking power come from your backlinks, that’s where SEO gets harder.

Unfortunately, everyone reads the same SEO advice. So everyone does the same thing and it evens the playing field so there isn’t much competitive advantage.

I’ve been to a number of Search Marketing conferences, and they all debate about this and that, but very few can give up good sources for finding backlinks that aren’t spammy and will last.

That’s the trick. Finding the unique, high quality links and doing it in a way that will last.

We’ve recently started building out another round of Affiliate Sites in another very competitive market. Insurance. So we’ve begun our link building campaigns in earnest.

When I got into it, I was finding that lots of my normal link building sources were being no-followed, or now had so many links on those pages it made it almost useless.

A friend of mine, Eric Owens, by chance mentioned that he (and a couple of other guys) were releasing a backlink product. Of course given that I needed to get these new sites of ours ranking, I asked for an early look.

I must admit, I was kind of expecting much of the same old stuff and there is some of that in there. Like article marketing, directory submissions etc. The stuff that normally gets talked about (although with a few little spins here and there).

However, the info that really caught my attention was the backlinking strategies that you’ll never hear SEOMoz talking about. Some really creative stuff in there that has reinvigorated me and got me feeling like I can dominate my competitors fairly easily.

If you’re looking for some excellent UNIQUE backlink strategies to push into the spots that will make you money, you should take a look.

SIDENOTE: Did you know that 60-80% of clicks will be on the first 3 positions and the other positions will have negligible clicks. That's why this is so important.
