How to create ebooks

You can create ebooks using free software and software you probably already have on your computer.

Alf Pedersen has struggled through the learning process and done the tedious research to find out what works and what doesn't.

In his ebook, Create Your Own Ebook he explains the various tools he has tried and the mistakes he made - so you can avoid them.

In very simple language, he describes how you can create your own ebook.

He doesn't assume you have any knowledge.

He explains why you should use PDF format for your book, what software to use to produce the text, how to write your ebook, how to change it to PDF format, how to upload it to your website, and how to make it downloadable for your visitors.

In case you don't have a website, he even explains how to get one.

Alf also covers free and paid ways to create impressive ebook covers.

He shows you how he handles credit card payments on autopilot.

It's a superb, no-nonsense book, and cheap.

For anyone planning to create an ebook, I strongly recommend it.

Hey Allan, interesting post. As an alternative to adobe PDF, you and your readers might be interested in something called http://particlebook.com for a more stylish way to put a book on the internet. PDF are an ok solution, but they don't really take advantage of the interactivity of the web, like you can't have a comments/feedback section, you can't add rich media, plus it requires special software to download and bootup. We just launched ParticleBook about a week ago, and are looking for some writers to give it a shot. If nothing else it could be simply another sales channel for your book, and a way to give a preview and drive traffic to where they can pay for it. If you check it out, let me know how you like it.

[Looks interesting. It looks more like a creative blogging/website system than an ebook. Allan.]

I believe ebooks can never replace books. There is something special about the musty smells of the age-old pages of a worn book, and the freshly printed pages of a newly unwrapped book. But I also believe that these are trying times for printed books, and even more so in time to come. As nations emphasize on the need to sustain the global environment and encourage their people to cut back on paper and ink, more people are taking their reading interests online. Especially with so many ebook software available online, people easily become authors overnight and earn passive incomes from selling online ebooks. Allan reviews this software that teaches how to use PDF to create ebooks. Somehow I feel PDF books, although can also be brought online, lose the interactivity most people want and expect from an ebook. I
