Everyone talks about the importance of keyword research.

But do you do it? I mean, do you really do it?

In my experience, most people either don't do it at all, or do a pretty poor job of it if they do.

They simply plug a few ideas into the free Google Keyword tool and think that's it. The problem is, if you really want your site to do well you need to do more than that.

While it might not seem like a big deal, if you focus on low quality search terms, your traffic and your sales will tank.

On the other hand, by selecting the right keywords you can fire up your sales engine right from the start.

Thankfully, it's not rocket science. Building your site on solid, reliable keywords is pretty simple really.

You just need to know what people are looking for. The results constantly surprise me.

For example, what do you think would have more search volume: "burn body fat" or "burn the fat"?

I don't know. Probably about the same, right?

With keyword research you'll find that "burn the fat" gets more than three times as much traffic as "burn body fat".

If you want to build on guess work that's fine, but if you want to build for success, you can't overlook this important aspect.
