Are you living life to the fullest?

Associate Programs Newsletter #395

Every now and again a book comes along that excites and inspires me.

This is one of those times...

1. Are you living life to the fullest?

3. Thought for today: Extraordinary things

1. Are you living life to the fullest?

What sort of life are you leading? How often do you do something exciting and memorable? Never? Once a year?

Are you letting your life slip through your fingers?

When you look back on your life, will you wish you...

  a) Spent more time working?
  b) Made more interesting friends?
  c) Did more exciting, memorable things?

"Quite frankly, nobody looks back on their life and wishes they had spent more time at the office," says Yanik Silver. "Your life is quite literally the sum of your experiences. A collection of rich experiences equals a rich life!"

Yanik's new book "34 Rules for Maverick Entrepreneurs", has persuaded me to rethink what I want to do and what I want to achieve with the rest of my life. I've started setting some new, more interesting goals.

In pre-Internet days, Joanna and I created a list of things we wanted. At the time, many of them seemed almost impossible, such as a home by the beach in Australia, a holiday house in New Zealand, the freedom to work anywhere we like... When we look back, we're surprised at how many of the items on the list we've achieved.

A chapter in Yanik's book describes his "BIG Life List".

Yanik sets goals not just about owning things, but also about DOING things.

I must admit, his list makes my list look wimpy. But that's OK. I don't have to copy him. For me, it's enough that I'm inspired by him. He wants to climb Mt Everest. I want to climb Mt Warning in Queensland, Australia. It has an easy track up it.

Stuff he wants to DO includes...

  Fly into space
  Fly to the Moon
  Ride big, bad roller coasters
  Visit every continent
  Run the Boston Marathon
Dance the haka with the All Blacks
Scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef
Leave $10 million+ to meaningful charities
He wants to HAVE...

  A fully restored MGA
  A vineyard producing award-wining wines

He wants to BE...

  Financially independent (already achieved)
Part of an IPO as an insider
  NY Times best selling author

These are just a few examples from a list which has about 100 items on it, and keeps growing.

"Don't get bogged down in what other people will think," Yanik says. Don't put something on your list that doesn't excite you..."

Go with your heart and write down the things YOU want to achieve.

Perhaps you're thinking you don't have time to do interesting, exciting things. Or you can't leave your business long enough to do memorable things.

If so, Yanik has a section in his new book aimed specifically at solving that challenge. He says if you focus on the critical few activities that produce 80% of the results, you'll free up your time to do even more outside work.

True to his own style, he's GIVING AWAY his life-changing book - and other freebies - to introduce you to his new physical newsletter, Maverick Business Insider.

Unfortunately, the launch has been postponed twice because of technical problems.

I hope when you go there today, this time you'll be able to get the fantastic freebie package. I checked the site a few moments ago and it was "live". If it's not, keep returning.

Mavericks blaze their own trail, find unconventional solutions and create their own rules for success.
There's an awful lot you can learn from Yanik's freebie package, and all you pay is postage and handling.

This is a truly awesome offer.

Don't let a few technical problems put you off grabbing this fantastic, life-changing book and the other freebies...

TIP: Yanik believes strongly in unexpected bonuses. After you sign up, expect the unexpected.

3. Thought for today: Extraordinary things

"Most people can do extraordinary things if they have the confidence or take the risks. Yet most people don't. They sit in front of the telly and treat life as if it goes on forever." - Philip Andrew Adams.

Hi Allan,

Thanks for your recommendation.

Yanik's ideas for living an exciting and fulfilling life have certainly given me food for thought. As always, you search and research what's out there and bring us the best! With all the hype and hucksters that are out there, it's good to have someone like you with a proven record of integrity. Keep up the good work, please.
