1) Case Study: Jake Becker’s Watchcount.com
Getting over 28,000 visitors each month to his site, Jake Becker has captured a niche affiliate market by providing a set of personally programmed tools that allow users to identify items that have been voted as popular or interesting by other users.
These items move up to the top of his search results, helping users find items that have bids or previous sales, and high numbers of watchers. For example a coin collector on the lookout for certain types of coins might use the site to locate the ones that have secretly attracted more eyeballs than others. This may help them to avoid bidding on certain super competitive items.
In 2009, Jake’s dedication to helping other affiliates received a Star Developer Award from eBay for being a helpful resource to fellow developers on their forums.

3) My Week – Think and Grow Rich
Have you ever had a problem where you don’t know which way to go on a project? I hit a wall this week and quite frankly was banging my head against it. That was until my Mastermind group stepped in and quickly helped me sort through it. The power of a group of other business people’s insights and experience is incredible.
Internet marketing is often a lonely business. Yes, you have your Skype and chat buddies but it’s not the same as working with live people. Even working in a coffee shop can make a difference to how you feel some days. Real people can give you feedback on the real processes that go on in buyers’ minds far more effectively, in many cases, than online surveys, split testing, etc.
If you get the chance, why not form a group of other local online marketers and meet with them regularly? I run an Internet marketing club for anyone who’s interested and we discuss ideas, techniques and discoveries to help each other. It’s fun, you get help and it opens your mind to opportunities that you may never have considered.
If you want to know more about forming a mastermind group, have a read of Chapter 10 in “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.

4) Thought for Today – Teams
“When you’re part of a team, you stand up for your teammates. Your loyalty is to them. You protect them through good and bad, because they’d do the same for you.” – Yogi Berra.
