Look Who's Attracting Traffic With Visitor Created Content
Hundreds or thousands of pages of visitor-created content on "old-fashioned" SBI sites?
That's right.
If you haven't looked at SBI for a while, you'll be surprised by the remarkable things SBI 2.0 owners are doing these days.
For two years, they've been quietly using an SBI add-on called Content 2.0 which has enabled them to attract hundreds of visitor-created pages.
Some have thousands of visitor-created pages.
One SBIer has more than 10,000 user-generated pages!
And this is REAL content from REAL people - original, keyword-rich articles and posts.
These SBIers are forming strong connections with their visitors, getting them involvedin their site, and encouraging them to share their knowledge. These visitors are contributing hundreds - or even thousands - of new pages. And it's on-topic content, all about the site's niche.
Yes, it's being done by owners of good "old-fashioned", web-based SBI.
This is better than blog comments. Heaps better than PLR. Much faster than creating your own content.
This original, keyword-rich content being created by visitors is ideal for attracting long tail keyword traffic - and for attracting the 50% of web searches that are unique.
This is real Web 2.0 stuff, which enables your visitors to contribute words, images and video.
What's more, these surfers who contribute words, images and video often have blogs or Facebook accounts, etc., and sometimes they link back to the content they contributed, so SBIers get inbound links. Inbound links raise the search engine results of all pages of a site, like a tide raising a boat.
Corporations pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to have Web 2.0 platforms built. But for a couple of years, Ken Evoy has been offering SBI users an optional Content 2.0 module, known as C2.
SBI has been constantly improved ever since it was launched about 10 years ago, so SBIers are used to seeing improvements, new features and steadily increasing value.
However, Ken has really surprised SBI owners this time, by deciding to give them Content 2.0.
C2 is no longer an add-on. It's now free to all SBI owners - and you can do some quite remarkable things with it.

With SBI's Content 2.0, your visitors can contribute their own words, images or videos. This site asks visitors for scary videos.
As you may know, SBI is more than a site builder. It's more than a web host. It's also an online niche research tool (Brainstormer), a marketing system, and a business-building educational system now taught in more than 30 universities and colleges. It has enabled tens of thousands to develop a money-earning online business.
One of the big advantages of SBI is that it's not just a bunch of useful tools. It's a whole instructional package that teaches people how to take a hobby or a topic they're passionate about and turn it into a business. It changes people's lives - big time.
Let's face it. Some experienced webmasters describe SBI as old-fashioned. They advise you to use WordPress, XSitePro or some other tool. In fact, I rather like WordPress - with our programmer's modifications.
But look at the remarkable things SBIers are achieving with SBI 2.0.
Some of the more popular strategies include their own niche versions of...
- Facebook. Create pages for people who want to be regular contributors.
- Super Blogs. C2 makes your site a low-maintenance super blog.
- Directories. Enable businesses to create a presence on your site for a fee.
- Ratings/Reviews Services. Visitors review/rate goods and services related to your niche.
- YouTube. A ghost site even created "BooTube".
- Yahoo! Answers. Visitors ask questions. Others (and/or you) answer them.
As you know, Web 2.0 sites like these can spread virally. Visitors create the content - text, images and videos - in a way that spreads to others to come and read/watch/interact with that content. They, in turn, add their own content. And on it goes...
Here are two SBI 2.0 examples...
Hector, whose niche is car accidents and insurance, has an "Ask the Expert" style site. People ask him a question and he answers it. He now has about 1,000 pages of visitor-generated content. That's LOTS of keyword-rich content to attract search engines.
Mantius has 7 SBI sites and has added C2 on 6 of them. He has a total of 3,102 C2 pages. "With real people posting and interacting on a website, it makes the site look so much more genuine to first-time and even long-time visitors," he says. "One of my C2 sections, about lyric feedback, is so loved by visitors, it's almost unbelievable."
Getting other people to create content for you gives you massive leverage because it saves you so much time. But the really beautiful thing is that it's UNIQUE - and search engines love unique content, especially keyword-rich unique content that's totally relevant to your niche.
For content creation, using C2 goes far beyond blog comments or private label rights (PLR).
"There are so many spammy private label clubs (where everyone gets the same articles to paraphrase) and various other fake content-creating schemes," Ken says. "Or you could hire writers to write passionless articles for you - that's better than the spammy stuff (if they give you an exclusive guarantee), but it's an expensive option. What could be better?
"Your visitors write your content for you. For free. Why do they do it? Because they WANT to. They know your niche and want to share, collaborate, even brag! Whatever the motive, they create content... good, original content."
If you still think SBI is old-fashioned... Well, it HAS been around for about a decade. It's been steadily improving year after year, and SBI 2.0 is a HUGE leap forward, at the old price.
Well, less than the old price actually, because you no longer have to pay $99 for C2.
What I like most about SBI is that it doesn't just supply business-building tools. It takes you by the hand and teaches you how to build a business.
If you're a beginner, you can start by using the BlockBuilder and choose one of the templates SBI provides. Over the years, many new templates have been added, with 100 new ones to be added soon. You can choose two-column or three-column layouts.
If you're more experienced, you can create your own unique design, building pages in FrontPage or Dreamweaver, or your favorite web builder, and pop them into the SBI system. It's your choice.
Private Forum
When you get SBI 2.0, ownership includes access to a busy private forum, where SBI owners ask questions, swap war stories and help each other. There's a section on Content 2.0 where SBIers share descriptions of the innovative ways they're getting visitor created content, attracting traffic, and making sales. Hector the insurance guy gives a detailed description of how he's running his site. He claims he's generating $44k a year. I'm not claiming those results are typical, but tens of thousands of SBIers have successful, money-earning sites.
Have another look at SBI.
It's a Web 2.0 solution for Netrepreneurs, for small online businesses, and affiliates. It enables you to give your potential customers a voice. It lets them interact and become emotionally involved with your site. Forming a connection is one of the most powerful ways to make sales.
SBI old-fashioned? Well, it still has old-fashioned value - now more than ever before.

UPDATE: Monthly Option
SBI now has a monthly option. Select the Annual Subscription Option and save $60. If you can't afford $299 right now, take the $29.99 Monthly Option. You've got nothing to lose (even the $29.99 is guaranteed!) and a life-changing business to gain.

Hi Allan.
For me, the most interesting information in your article is that "the 50% of web searches that are unique." Do you have any prove of this statement? Or quotation, or some resource you take this information from? Sorry my english, not native speaker. :-) Thank you very much, Martin [Your English is fine. Google announced the 50% stat on searches some years ago. I can't find a recent source, but here's an old Google PowerPoint presentation in which a Google employee says that of 200 million searches a day, 50% were unique: http://www.haifa.il.ibm.com/Workshops/searchandcollaboration2004/papers/haifa.pdf Allan.] |

Cannot agree more. We have been using SBI for over two years and have been extremely happy with the results. Not only have they made it easy, they have give more tools to work with than any other hosting site. Content 2.0 has given our readers a chance to share their opinions and expertise.

Just a small clarification. Content 2.0 is compatible to Google friend connect?
[I'm sorry. I don't know. Use the "Any Questions?" link at the end of the post. Allan.] |

Hi Allan
I'm a C2ing SBIer and I love it. Since putting C2 on my site, it has grown from around 500 pages to close to 3000. I have a very loyal visitor base that grows constantly since they opt in to get notified when a new C2 page arrives. These visitors tell their friends and they opt-in, and those friends tell their friends, etc. You get the idea. With the implementation of C2, my site is now growing on its own and my income grows as well. I've recently had to move and had little time to work on my site. That did not stop my site from growing (1000s and 1000s of visitors per day), nor did it stop my checks from rolling in. The C2 submissions keep my content fresh, which Google loves. Even though I need to read, edit and approve submissions, the income stream from my site is nearly completely passive income now. I really don't know any other way that ordinary people can create something so extraordinary. The investment in SBI is only $300, and after the initial payment, it pays for itself. Then it grows and grows to create a wonderful source of income that is portable, steady and not reliant upon or majorly effected by the current economy. I cannot recommend Site Build It! highly enough. |

Thanks very much, Allan, for the kind words.
Great comments on the long tail of search. And yes, Google said at that time that 50% of its searches were unique in any given day. Of course, you don't create content specifically for those rare words. But when others create hundreds of pages for you (honest, real content, not duplicated stuff, because SBIers' visitors are NOT Net marketers just real surfers) a lot of long tail traffic adds up, your site's reputation grows, inbound links increase, and ALL your pages ultimately benefit. I always chuckle when folks call SBI1 "old-fashioned" because it creates static Web sites. Google happens to love static Web sites with great content and inbound links. Way over 99% of 200 Million blogs meanwhile, are dead. And blog commenting is so "one-to-many" uni-dimensional where YOU still have to do all the work. Meanwhile, SBI! sites do more than outperform most other sites and blogs. They turn into serious, long-term businesses. Anyway, we're very excited about SBI! 2.0. Thanks again for the kind words. :-) All the best, Ken P.S. to Shaon -- Google's Friend Connect is only for comments and it's delivered by Javascript. Engines don't read js-generated content. We studied it to see if we should incorporate it into SBI!. The conclusion was to enable SBIers to own and control their own content. |

Can this technique be done with a Wordpress blog?
[Not easily. A simpler approach would be to create a blog with SBI 2 - you CAN do that - and use the Content 2.0 module as part of your project. The Content 2.0 module is integrated in SBI 2 and is designed to be part of it. Allan.] |

Ken Evoy is responding to my comment!! I am excited!
I am going have a SBI site very soon, but still $299 is huge for Indians. However, I heard you have some approved webmasters who is helping to create successful SBI site, is there any such webmasters from India? [The company has just introduced a monthly payment option. However, hiring an approved webmaster would cost you more. To get answers to questions about SBI, use the "Any Questions" link at the bottom of the article. Allan.] |

Hello, Shaon. I think you are not fully conversant with the SBI process of site building. I am an SBIer, and do not know a thing about website building. But, here I am!
SBI has recently introduced a monthly payment option, you can go for that. With your experience, I think, with SBI, building a website will be a breeze for you! Best wishes! And, ah yes, I am also going to add Content 2.0 very soon to my website! |

Well written article. Thanks Allan.
I use SBI. I started using content 2.0 when it was an optional feature offered at $99 USD per annum. And it has steadily grown my site way beyond what I could have done on my own. Now that it is Free, the sky is the limit. I highly recommend you use SBI whatever your site concept. |

C2 on SBI works brilliantly only if you tool it to function for your specific readers, split testing different projects to encourage different responses can open up some amazing results, I have found extreme results with c2, if your topic is something your audience wants to talk about they will.
