How to create automatic affiliate income

By Dan Lok | Published 09/20/2006 | Super affiliates |

Getting an advantage over traditional affiliate marketers

Too many people think they can work as “affiliate marketers” and make a fortune without offering something of their own.

They assume all they need is a great product that someone else creates to generate significant money.

I am a firm believer, however, that in life if you want to succeed you first have to offer your own kick-butt products.

That is not to say you shouldn’t participate in affiliate programs. Using affiliate programs, anyone can make great money. I have made thousands of dollars from a single affiliate endorsement.

However, I do not consider my job title that of an “affiliate marketer” like some people who do not offer their own products and services. Instead, I am an entrepreneur. I use affiliate marketing as a complementary tool to supplement my income.

What many affiliate marketers do is drive traffic direct to a sales page or their affiliate links.

Since I am confident you want to know what I do, I will tell you.

I offer my own products. I like to use my own products as leverage, providing me an advantage over traditional affiliate marketers.

How does offering my own products allow me to gain an advantage over others?

I build credibility, trust and loyalty among my customers and client base. In the unlikely event my customers do not buy my products, they often will buy affiliate products I recommend.

Why? I have done my homework, researched my prospect and customer and provide the credibility and loyalty they need to buy whatever it is I have to offer, whether my own product or an affiliate product.

When you offer your own products, and use affiliate marketing as a supplementary tool to create more income, you are left comfortable and secure financially.

Why?

Because you can rest assured knowing even if you are not successful selling your own products, you can still generate some income selling affiliate products.

How to generate huge affiliate commissions while you sleep

Let me share with you my secret affiliate strategy. I use a technique. This technique allows me to create a lot more passive income so I remain relaxed and at ease with my financial status.

What is my secret technique? It is simple common sense. First, I take time to build my own list of loyal customers. I do this by bribing people to sign up for my list. Offer them something free. Everyone wants free stuff.

After giving away free stuff, customers easily sign up for my list.

Then I watch the customers on my list. I look for buying patterns. One thing I have noticed is a pattern among certain customers.

When people visit your site and review your programs with interest, but do not buy something within the first 30 days, they probably are not likely to in the future. They may simply be a poor fit for your product.

However, as they are attentive and still members of your list after 30 days, chances are you can sell them on someone else’s product, a product that may offer a better fit.

Therefore, if after 30 days or thereabouts I notice a prospect is not buying, I then switch gears and offer them an affiliate product through a different affiliate list.

Let’s say for example 35 days pass without a purchase. I start promoting other people’s products through a separate email series. They start getting offers for other affiliate products I promote automatically.

I just set up my autoresponders to do the work for me, and switch gears. It is one way I generate leads and make money selling others' products, even if customers do not buy my products.

If you adopt this strategy, you are more likely to make money than if you jump from one product to another.

Too many affiliate marketers jump from one “hot” product to the next.

Find something you know works, something you know you will get a lot of money from, set up one product and one program and promote it continuously. Use it as a tool to get more money from your prospects and customers.

That is one simple way you can create automatic affiliate income easily and successfully.

Sincerely,
Dan Lok

How do you filter your list so non buyers start receiving a new sequence? Or do you just remove buyers from the generic non-buyers list?
Great info Allan!

Good question. First of all, it's very important to segment your list. I use 1shoppingcart.com. So when someone first signs up, they're in my generic newsletter. After they purchase something they'll be moved to a new (customer) autoresponder.

1shoppingcart does that automatically. So I have different autoresponders for different products. Depends on what they buy, they'll get totally different follow up messages.

Can I know what kind of program/software did you use to create your own affiliate program for your own product?

Trying to run an affiliate, what offer would you make to affiliates to join your program and make real income.

Do you have any idea how to promote a free energy program. Please check out the information on site at www.air4zero.com and tell me what you think.
Thanks D G

[An affiliate is someone who joins an affiliate program. I think you want to run an affiliate program, not an affiliate! These would be good questions to ask on our affiliate forum, where there's more space. In the meantime, you can find some tips in these articles:
