1. How Jeff Walker creates buzz for new product
========================================
Jeff Walker, the man who helped John Reese sell a million dollars worth of Traffic Secrets in one day last year, has been busy creating buzz for a new product of his own.
It's been interesting to watch him in action as he builds anticipation for his new product, the Product Launch Formula.
First, he organized a bunch of friends to email their subscribers about a "no-pitch" teleseminar with big-name participants:
Jim Edwards
Frank Kern
Jason Potash
John Reese
Mike Long
This enabled Jeff to build an email list of more than 8,000 people interested in selling using "social proof".
Social proof, he says, is one of the most important psychological triggers. "We look for what other people are doing and we tend to follow along with them."
A blog helps maintain excitement. It's a virtual meeting place for people as they wait for the product launch. Frank says it's vital to use a blog during a major product launch.
There's a countdown page where you can watch the seconds tick away, if you're so inclined.
There's even a video on choosing the price (it won't be low!) a few snippets teasing you about the contents of the coming report, and a waiting list you can get on.
I expect there will also be a strict limit on the number sold, to create urgency.
Perhaps limited quantity bonuses will be offered, too.
These techniques are all designed to build anticipation, to sweep you along with the crowd.
They get people talking, wondering and watching.
If you want to cash in on this excitement as an affiliate, you'll probably be disappointed, because that's only for the chosen few.
Amid all the hoopla, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the "Social Proof" report really IS a no-pitch report.
It's well worth studying for fresh ideas, whether you're an affiliate or a merchant.
I haven't seen the Product Launch Formula and so I can't recommend it, but this Social Proof report is very good.
It won't cost you anything.
You can get the 64-page Social Proof transcript here:

If you prefer mp3s, download the mp3 recordings here:

4. No-cost PDF creator and more
========================================
Here's a tip from our affiliate forum...
"Wherever I go I always see people punting CutePDF or PDF995.
"Nobody seems to know that there is an even better solution out there: OpenOffice.org. In addition to a PDF creator you get an entire office suite."
Here's another use for it...
If you want to record your affiliate commissions on a spreadsheet and don't have Microsoft Office, try http://www.OpenOffice.org .
